When you’re hauling a heavy trailer or a bed full of gear, rear sag can make steering and braking feel loose. Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity between the frame and rear suspension to keep your vehicle level and stable. With the truck riding flat, your steering stays precise, braking feels balanced, and your headlights stay aimed where they should.
Every load is different, so these double convoluted air springs let you dial in the pressure you need—anywhere between 5 psi and 100 psi. Add air when towing or carrying a heavy load to maintain control and balance, then release pressure for an easy, comfortable ride when unloaded. Each bag can be adjusted side-to-side with separate inflation valves to level off uneven loads.
Firestone’s double-convoluted design uses four layers of reinforced rubber wrapped with a braided wire girdle for exceptional strength and burst resistance. The rubber bellows are anchored by corrosion-resistant metal end plates and crimp-rolled seals that keep them locked tight. This heavy-duty build prevents permanent sagging, absorbs road shock, and softens contact between axle and frame to keep your suspension working like it should.

Each Ride-Rite kit comes complete with custom brackets, hardware, air line tubing, and manual inflation valves—no scramble for extra parts. The brackets mount securely between the axle and frame, and routing the airlines to the bumper keeps valve access simple. Once installed, you can pair the system with optional Firestone or Air Lift compressor kits for easy air control from inside the cab whenever you need it.

The construction material of the fittings may vary.

I placed an order for airbag system. The airbag system I received was not the kit that I ordered. Customer service assured me they would ship out the correct kit. I received replacement kit. Kit number was correct, but half the items in the kit were not correct. In the process of returning shipment for refund, I have one weekend before my trip so I ordered the kit from a local distributor. Unfortunately, I am paying more, but if there is an error in the shipment, I can go to a brick and mortar shop locally and get the correct kit. If I was not in a time crunch, I would wait for the cheaper kit from etrailer. I understand Firestone changes their numbers frequently.
I’m sure glad I got this review so quickly, have not even been home yet to open the box let alone install them! Keep up the quick emails!!
Product didn’t fit my truck…had to make way more modifications than what was stated. Had to take off, the entire set when i realized bolts were missing on the other side. ETrailer told me to go to Firestone, Firestone sent me to etrailer. They ran the clock out on the return and screwed me.
Installation was not difficult. Did have a small issue with brake lines on driver side and it was difficult to put the bottom screw in the air bag, but patience prevailed and all was good.
They work great. I had problems with the bracket under the air bag moving and causing the bags to not stand up straight. A couple heavy tach welds fixed that.
They work as they should and leveled the truck out
When the truck is empty it was too rough riding for me! They want you to keep 5 psi in the air bags, this made the back end bounce over bumps! They worked great for hauling my camper!! But I use the truck more for regular driving, so I took them off and found a better alternative!!!
Directions could be much better and who ever designed the axle bracket could have designed it a different way so it could have cleared the brake line assembly without modification.
Arrived quickly. No hassels. Easy to or der.
Instructions were very easy to understand and follow. The brake line bracket modifications on the driver side were the hardest part everything else was straight forward.
Product seams good, pretty easy to install. Two problems:1. Etrailer sent me some that were obviously used. Had paint scuffed off on stress points. I would return them, but need them for a camper I’m getting this week. Hopefully they’re not structurally damaged from the previous use. 2. The directions are a little off. I have a 2024 F350 and some of the mounting locations are slightly different than what the directions tell you. For instance, it talks about removing an exhaust hanger, then installing a bracket where it was. There’s no exhaust bracket where they show. Online videos for, the manufacturer made trailer, are also different. Maybe they were installing on a gas instead of diesel.
Product As expected! Fast shipping
Driver side lower base plate hits brake line assembly mounted to axle. Had to modify bracket and bend brake line mount
Easy install except for installing the air valve in my bumper (limited space for my hands). Also, recommend using a block of wood to hold the air bag compressed when you are tightening the air bag (on top). Also, very easy to mark index marks when the brackets are not yet installed
Worked great on my 2022 f350
I installed these springs myself. I recall having a question during the installation and it was quickly answered by a customer rep. The springs have worked well whether my truck is empty (7 psi), hauling my motorcycle (20 psi) or towing my fifth wheel RV (50 psi). Overall I’ve been pleased with the product
Bought these for when we tow our 5th wheel. pretty easy install but where they have you cut part of the bracket or cut your brake line holder was a little strange. Bracket that is on the edge of the Joust doesn't even touch the axle tube so not even sure why it was needed. Put it on the passenger side but was not going to cut my brackets on the driver side so it did not go into the truck. Will keep an eye on it just in case it does bend but I would be surprised if it does. Take your time on putting the tubes in and you shouldn't have any leaks. Had this set on my other truck and loved them. Great company with a great product.
Everything I expected. Easy to install and working great with the big trailer
I installed these air bags on a 2024 F250 and it took about 8 to 10 hours to complete the installation. Most of the time went into installing the driver side. After an hour or so of struggling to get the lower drivers side bracket to sit on the jounce striker plate, I determined that there was no way to do so without cutting off a portion of the lower bracket to clear the brake line mounts. I emailed with firestone and they confirmed it was okay to cut / remove a portion of the lower air bag bracket to clear the mount for the brake lines. Bottom line is this kit does not fit a 2024 F250 without some serious modification. This could have been easily avoided with some better engineering on Firestones part and next time I will be looking at a different brand. The only reason I gave these 3 stars, is that they are working great after a 300 mile trip with my truck camper.
Took a few hours to install on my 2024 f350 but very happy with the results. After installing them and putting 5 psi in them they were 7.5” between the top and bottom plate. Instructions called for 6.5” which it was before I added air so I called tech support to confirm that was okay and they said it was. True test will be next week when I get my 5th wheel and set down in the bed.
2024 f250. Had to do modifications to the brackets to make them fit. Instructions were incomplete and vague.
Working great installation was just under 4 hours. Leveled truck out under load.
I ran a similar setup on my 2005 F250 for 20 years without any issues. That’s why I chose this for my 2021 F250. Install was quick and painless. Instructions are more than adequate. Fitment was good.
The video is very helpful. The airbags work as they should. The installation needed some modifications which a lot of people would not be able to do? Grinding away to go around a brake line.

Hey, Mark. You should've been able to slightly move/bend the brake line. I know some people are not comfortable doing that so you could make modifications to the bracket like you did.

The bags seem to work well but the installation instructions were confusing, this was the case even after I have previously installed an earlier version in another truck. The install confusion was related to if the lower bracket needs to be installed when you have a jounce bracket. Every image on the instructions show the bracket in place yet it’s not to be used if you have a jounce support.
